Reed LoRenzo Shannon is an actor, recording artist and filmmaker whose work spans film, television, animation, stage and original music. Known for voicing Ekko in Netflix’s Arcane, playing Scotty Simms in Prime Video’s The Wilds and leading Splash City as Juju, he brings a performer’s instinct and a musician’s sense of rhythm to each part of his work.
Raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Reed began his professional career at 13 on the first national tour of Motown The Musical. Portraying young Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Berry Gordy, he performed more than 275 times across 22 U.S. cities. That early experience put singing, acting and the discipline of live performance at the center of his creative life.
Reed moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and expanded into screen and voice work. In Arcane, his performance as Ekko is part of the Emmy-winning series’ world of divided cities, found family and resistance. In the second season of The Wilds, he plays Scotty Simms, one of the young survivors at the center of the show’s social experiment. His screen credits also include a guest appearance in Pulse and work in Canal Street; his voice credits include Blaze and the Monster Machines.
In Splash City, Reed plays Juju, a young man caught between family, survival and the pressures of the streets of San Francisco. The leading role adds a feature-film chapter to a career already moving between live-action storytelling and animation.
Alongside acting, Reed develops an independent catalog rooted in R&B and soul. His releases include Soul Play, The X Pack and its deluxe edition, with songs including sober, hate the club, sexy and goodnight. Music is a parallel creative practice: a place for his own voice, perspective and performance to take the lead.
